Co-sponsored by: Representatives Abercrombie (D-HI), Jones (R-NC), Kucinich (D-OH), Paul (R-TX), Meehan (D-MA), Woolsey (D-CA) and Lee (D-CA)

This joint resolution demands that:

(1) the President announce a plan for troop withdrawal by December 31, 2005.

(2) at the earliest possible date, the U.S. turn over all military operations to the elected Government of Iraq and provide for prompt and orderly withdrawal of all U.S. troops.

(3) troop withdrawal begin as soon as possible, but no later than October 1, 2006.

Peace Action urges our members to voice your support for this important legislation, while also asking your Senators & Representative to oppose permanent bases and the long-term economic & political occupation of Iraq.
